If we prepare the polymer film in such a way it absorbs the light of the used wavelength, we obtain similar sharp resonance lines like in the previous example, but without the thin metal layer
The extinction coefficient is k1=0.001, which can be achieved by doping a polymer matrix (here PMMA n1=1.48) with a suitable dye.
In this case we use a high index prism n0= 1.72 (SF 10 glass) to obtain a good optical contrast.
